The Brief

Following Instagram’s latest algorithm pivot toward Reels, the UK’s leading Italian food distributor, Salvo 1968, tasked us with switching up their organic strategy to take advantage of Instagram’s move away from being a photo sharing app.

The Solution

We quickly got to work by identifying what makes a top performing food-based Reel and realised that short, four to six second clips set to trending music and featuring an ASMR aesthetic performed well. Focusing on this theme, we scheduled in more client visits to shoot content, up-weighted our Reels frequency and collaborated with Salvo’s customers to quickly introduce a Reels-first approach.

Viral Views

Over three months a number of our Reels went viral (one reached 440k views) and in total we generated over 1.1 million organic views from a following of just under 10k.

Through the Explore page, the viral Instagram Reels reached an entirely new audience who shared their comments and love which helped grow brand awareness by 133% in 12 weeks.
